Last weekend a new sports season started at UzLITI Engineering. Volleyballers were the first to start the new year.
Six teams (52 players) represented different departments of the company: Civil, Electrical, Piping, Low Current Systems, Process and Instrumentation, Compressor Stations and Technical Equipment participated took part in the competition. The tournament was played in 2 groups, and the top two teams from each group played in the semi-finals.
The tournament took place in the sports hall of the secondary school no. 72 in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The teams fought hard and showed their will to win and their desire to achieve their goal.
As a result, the first place was won by the team from the Electrical Department, who beat the team from the Process and Instrumentation, who came second. Third place went to the team from the Low Current Systems Department.
It is worth noting that Madina Darabayeva was the only woman to take part in the tournament.
“I really like this sport. I love it for its dynamics, the need to make the right decisions quickly and the great team spirit. In my spare time I go to the volleyball section and when I heard about the tournament, I was happy to take part. I played for the team of the Compressor Stations and Technical Equipment Department. And even though we did not win, we were full of energy and had lot of fun!" said Madina Darabaeva, Project Coordinator of the Gas Industry Project Implementation Team.
Vasiliy Pats, Head of Sports Sector at UzLITI Engineering, noted that the volleyball championship was the first event in the company’s sports life this year, and there are more competitions to come, the next of which is a cyber sports Tournament (Counter Strike and DOTA2) scheduled for the first half of February.
