Last week, two remarkable events - athletics race and the company's football championship – marked the sports life in UzLITI Engineering.
Athletics is one of the favorite sports in the team. Our runners regularly participate in all major competitions and marathons held in the country. The Yangi Nafas race dedicated to the Flag Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan was no exception. Representatives of the engineering company took part in its capital stage - Artur Kilmetov, Vasily Kononov and Alexey Kornienko at a distance of 10 km, and Makdoom Shahbaz - 3 km.
“The race was great, a good occasion and excellent weather created a good mood for all participants," said Artur Kilmetov, 1st Category Piping Engineer. I ran the ten-kilometer distance, improved my previous personal record by 8 minutes. Such competitions undoubtedly contribute to increasing the feeling of patriotism among the Uzbek people and their respect for the state symbols of the country. In addition, it is an effective promotion of a healthy lifestyle, especially among young people. For example, Vasily Kononov participated with his son”.
At the same time, football teams were competing for the winner place in the UzLITI Engineering Championship. Nine teams and total 111 players played in the tournament. Some teams were formed from employees of several departments and became combined teams.
According to the adopted championship procedure, the participants were divided into two groups (consisting of 4 and 5 teams), and the best two from each were playing in the semi-final. The tournament was interesting, though, sometimes, lack of team cohesion affected the performance, the guys contested the victory in every match. And the Civil Department Team, defeated the players from the Compressor Station and Power Equipment Division in the final with a score of 4:2. The third place went to the players of the Electrical Engineering Department who defeated their rivals from the Civil and Industrial Construction Department with the 10:1 score.
“The tournament became a great pastime for the company's employees” said Anton Yatsevyuk, Chief Specialist of the Electrical Engineering Department. “We revealed the best football players and also got to know our colleagues better, that of course, will cohere the team. I am happy that together with the team we managed to achieve a good overall result - to take third place”.
