Cricket is a quite new sport for Uzbekistan but there are cricket amateurs here as well, including employees from UzLITI Engineering.
The Tashkent Stars Cricket Club Team consisting players from our engineering company recently took part in the Uzbekistan Open Cricket Championship. Six teams were competing in the tournament and the games were held at the ANFA International Cricket Stadium.
“Our team has been a member of Uzbekistan Cricket Federation for almost three years, and we regularly take part in friendly matches," said Imam Md Azhar, the team captain. - This championship was the first such mass competition in this sport, so we were seriously tuned up for a good performance and high results. Of course, before the start the players were very excited, but we believed in ourselves. Unfortunately, we lost the final match. Nevertheless, everybody was happy, the game was beautiful and two of our cricketers got individual awards. Farhan Kazm won best batsman and Adeeb Alam was recognized as best bowler.
The tournament is over but the cricket amateurs from UzLITI Engineering have plans to continue training and achieve more victories. Let's wish them success!
